Renate Förster, from Bad Sachsa in the Harz Mountains, completed a traineeship as an industrial clerk in Bad Lauterberg and went on to work in the music sector of Deutsche Grammphon/Polygram where she remained for several years. In 1976 she joined Konzertdirektion Schmid as manager of the accounts department. She is now also personnel manager and since 1991 has been a member of the Board of Directors as company secretary.
