“The magnetic young German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott...a fearless player with technique to burn ...  even more impressive were his gorgeous, plush tone and his meticulous attention to expression.”    The New York Times

With technical brilliance and authority, with intellect and emotional esprit, Daniel Müller-Schott is establishing himself on the world’s concert podiums. Born in Munich in 1976, he studied under Walter Nothas, Heinrich Schiff and Steven Isserlis and was a scholar recipient of Anne-Sophie Mutter’s Foundation. In 1992 Daniel Müller-Schott took first prize of the Moscow International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, aged 15. His instrument, the “Ex Shapiro” Matteo Goffriller was made in Venice in 1727.

Another highlight of 2011 saw the world premiere of André Previn’s cello concerto, dedicated to Müller-Schott, performed by its’ dedicatee with the Leipzig Gewandhaus under the composer’s baton.
